How to inspire our young people

 Will Trumps reform of EDUCATION WORK ? 

Trumps latest efforts to reform education are , as so much of my generations efforts to FIX things,   ham fisted and reactionary.
Yes we Westies waste a mountain of rubbish on education , but we really don't know why. 
Whitehead and Ellul told us why,  but, like the badly educated ( GKChesterton) generation we all are, even we DO NOT LISTEN. , 

If we are going to better spend that staggeringly huge amount,  we must know why we are not inspiring our young people.
 The media, inexperienced cynics , messages meddlers and failed technology worshipers ( Ellul)  have made it impossible for the few of us who KNOW how to fix and work with nature,  to be properly heard.

Let's not waste this time talking about education in general, but the specifics of denial ( That is ; areas where we do not face the truth and learn to adjust and adapt to it -- the true Christian calling ) . The Christian Radical
Lets agree NOT to get quickfix, like those around us .

Lent could be a time to find a real future hope in a mess of false hopes. A Dwelling place that lasts.

The reality that my generation are in denial about NOT using resources wisely would not be so bad if they didn't cheat and go cheap and light in response to real threats --throwing huge expensive tokens that don't work to relative LIGHT problems like energy ( like wind solar and battery ) when the real problems ( finding energy is a first world issue ) of balanced development and beauty ( like housing and shoemakers great : "good work"), being things that a geomorph scientist works with glee on- or used to till the preservationists and new nature worshipers ( "do not touch- stay away" ) took control ;

WE should SEE that doing nothing with nature is easy but denial no touch and fear will not help us live with nature. Infact these common reactions remove our hope that we are infact made in the image of God, have custody, but still have to deal with a huge duality as creatures.
Denial breeds this joyless, fearful and inspirationless diversionary stuff that makes us knock down the wrong walls ( eg which schools or institutions are the worst ??)

One of our very best educators left us with the words to describe the danger he saw coming . "Mere description" and http://misplacedconcreteness.blogspot.com , The problem is not an external threat but an internal mindset.
