Can we do anything to stop the panic ?

  I am not worried about the future of the planet, but a heck of a lot of thinking Westerners are , and that deeply affects the mood of our nations. We as westerners are in a jumpy mood and that is not good. We need IMO, more than anything,  to find a place of rest and sound vistas of hope that will slow down the rush to deal with both real and perceived crisis. Yes,  there are real threats and we must face them and find a more stable and secure way forward.  In particular we need to find hope in the way we manage the earth and its resources ; The science of earth SE and the science of human belligerence SHB,  I will call them,  There are many worries and soundly based threats here in our communities and they are complex and interrelated, but one driver stands out. The job we all want

We all like to have authority, be recognized for it and be on a vehicle that is moving.    Our little trip on the Orient Express recently (Berlin to Bucharest )  provided lots of light relief from the routines of normal life.  The most memorable was one section with sleeper car for 24 hrs,  a guard for our carriage and a guide for every station.  The full story later.    And not doing much is good stimulation to think about those who do still have to do things. For example. How to inspire our young people

 Will Trumps reform of EDUCATION WORK ?  Trumps latest efforts to reform education are , as so much of my generations efforts to FIX things,   ham fisted and reactionary. Yes we Westies waste a mountain of rubbish on education , but we really don't know why.  Whitehead and Ellul told us why,  but, like the badly educated ( GKChesterton) generation we all are, even we DO NOT LISTEN. ,  If we are going to better spend that staggeringly huge amount,  we must know why we are not inspiring our young people.  The media, inexperienced cynics , messages meddlers and failed technology worshipers ( Ellul)  have made it impossible for the few of us who KNOW how to fix and work with nature,  to be properly heard. Let's not waste this time talking about education in general, but the specifics of denial ( That is ; areas where we do not face the truth and learn to adjust and adapt to it -- the true Christian calling ) . Sparcs

  Sparcs  are, of course, those of us who set limits to what works well. We can be Narcs too, bless you brother sister friend. My new friend, We are economists who share a love of ecology.  As we agreed at our meeting with Roosevelt and Churchill yesterday (Zalensky, Trump and Putin were doing other things)  Ael and I ( Minister in the Moldavian government, agreed that good ecologists and economists can be the best of friends (which we became yesterday),  Notice how Roosevelt is listening. Our good friend Galbraith would have loved to have been there too, I am sure - even if he only got the chance to try and relieve a few Aussie PMs and PM hopefuls ( there were a few of them) that competition is not the only key driver of a sustainable free thinking, free market system. Sorry Tony! Yes, we Aussie's want to compete and  can do , (both great things) but it's not all about  one of us , The many joyous reminders here at Excel about our clearly shared conse...

  NARCS  Negatives allied under responsible citizenship   ( Positives really in the long term  ) A group especially for Mothers and Wives  and to honor them ( after GK Chesterton)  Some caution ( if you like, negativity) is needed to guide the young and inexperienced in particular.    Men can be Narcs too, but most often it's our mothers and our wives (poor darlings) Many Men need to be more narcy with their children because always  playing nice (That great new series on the screen) is disaster writ large for any age.    Setting boundaries is what good families do best (and unfortunately what government's do worst). Help governments do better by joining Sparcs , Narks or ..........your new name  Please add your bits

  Naturally, the naysayers would go nowhere in this crowd of mad "Formula One for the future " young people that came here all over the world. ( I loved being amongst the petrol heads there too at Excel ).   Clearly, many of the naysayers are going to hell in handbaskets of their own making; a public service that is not working and as wasters of the productive wisdom of the people will lose their presumed mandate and be thrown out of office.   Yes we all came (hundreds of young Australians) because of Jordan, and we still don't know all the reasons why: which is really so special and weird because those ongoing mystery, inspiration and glory elements are still a bit hidden after 3 glorious but exhausting days together. Nothing is ever perfect, but the perfectness of these moments in history was well established for those with eyes to see it.   We hope those, by watching on screens, YOU get some of that.  The point is , Jordan is reliving, in those be...
